When you enter his studio, you see an immense pallet of colors ready
to serve him.
Sitting by his easel is like quietly entering the world of the great
masters. With fresh eyes and driven by a strange subtle well-being
of a proud people, he gets lost in the great vistas of the
laurentians and tears away from the cold northern winds.
Every part of a Blanchet painting is dealt with abstractions;
juxtaposed strokes emit vibrations from which shockwaves create a
figurative painting. It is pretence to translate an atmosphere
creates an emotion and give rise to a state of mind.
Strict execution in paint comes from the unforgotten teachings of
his Dutch master and mentor who studied at the Antwerp academy of
arts. Lessons often repeated like leitmotivs: When you paint a tree
be the tree, when you do water, be the water. This is the essential
point of his teachings.
Each painting by Blanchet is a moment of almost palpable generosity,
it permeates forest odors, urges one to sit in the depth of a valley
or simply watch time go by.
Every painting resembles his generous persona: light in his eyes and
generous heart.
