Née à
Beauharnois en 1953, les étés passés au bord d’un lac ont
certainement éveillé chez Marie-Claude Courteau une fascination et
un amour profond pour la nature.
Malgré
des études en sciences et une carrière de technicienne chimiste,
elle trouve du temps à consacrer à ses autres passions : peinture,
photographie, horticulture, randonnées en nature. Elle commence à
peindre sérieusement vers 1978 et participe à plusieurs expositions
solos et de groupe dans sa région.
Elle
participe en 2000 au Grand Concours du Cercle des Artistes Peintres
et Sculpteurs du Québec, où elle remporte un prix dans la catégorie
« Réalité figurative ». Suivent deux expositions solos et plusieurs
expositions collectives. Puis en 2006 et 2007, elle remporte
plusieurs prix lors d’Expo-Concours, à Mascouche, Valleyfield, et La
Prairie.
On
trouve maintenant ses tableaux dans deux Galeries au Québec, La
Galerie Pierre Séguin et le Balcon d’Art, ainsi que dans plusieurs
collections privées au Canada et aux Etats-Unis. |

Ses
projets? Peindre toujours, explorer l’huile et ses infinies
possibilités « sur le motif » ainsi qu’en atelier. Ses sujets :
montagnes, forêts, lacs, rivières, autant que la douceur des champs
au lever du jour ou la fougue d’un coucher de soleil, tous prétextes
aux caresses de celle qui renouvelle constamment la nature : la
LUMIÈRE…
Born in
Beauharnois in 1953, summers spent by the lake certainly awakened
her fascination and deep love for nature.
In spite of a
career in chemistry, Marie-Claude finds the time to dedicate to her
other passions: painting, photography, horticulture, and hiking. She
begins to paint seriously by 1978 and participates in several solo
and group exhibitions in her region.
She participates
in 2000 in the Big Competition of the “Cercle des Artistes Peintres
et Sculpteurs du Québec”, where she wins an award in the category "
Representational Reality ". Follow two solo and several collective
exhibitions and Symposia. Then in 2006 and 2007, she wins First and
Second prizes during Art Contests in Mascouche, Valleyfield, and La
Prairie. Her art is now represented by two galleries in Quebec,
“Galerie Pierre Séguin” in l’Île Perrot, and “Le Balcon d’Art” in
St-Lambert, as well as in several private collections in Canada and
the United States.
Her projects ?
Paint always, investigate oil and its infinite possibilities on
location as well as in her studio. Her subjects: mountains, forests,
lakes, rivers, as much as the sweetness of fields at dawn or the
ardour of a sunset, all pretexts to the caresses of the one who
constantly renews nature: LIGHT …
